Lisa Pavane: the next director of the Australian Ballet School

Lisa Pavane is to become the fourth director of the Australian Ballet School.

She will succeed Marilyn Rowe who is retiring at the end of this year.

Rowe’s predecessors were Gailene Stock and Dame Margaret Scott (founding director).

Pavane joined the Australian Ballet in 1981 and was a principal of the company from 1986 to 1994 when she and her husband Greg Horsman left to join the English National Ballet.

Pavane returned home to Australia in 2001 and joined the teaching staff of the Australian Ballet School in 2007.
