Step by step, Australian dance companies plan for the future

After months of cancelled performances the Sydney Dance Company will return to Carriageworks in Sydney for a season of New Breed, the company’s annual celebration of emerging Australian choreography.

SDC says they’ve gathered a group of choreographers who’ve recently created ‘Covid-safe, socially distanced new works’.

The West Australian Ballet will unveil its 2021 season on 21 October at 7.00pm (AWST).

The season will be launched online.

Season packages will go on sale from 10am (AWST) 22 October and an online copy of the company’s brochure will be available after the launch.

The Queensland Ballet will stage Ai-Gul Gaisina’s production of Giselle at the outdoor venue, Home of the Arts, on the Gold Coast from November 12-14.

The Australian Ballet hasn’t revealed its 2021 season but some of the 2020 ballets may be included in the 2021 season under the artistic directorship of David Hallberg.
